Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Vector Atomic, a leading innovator in quantum devices. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and verifying analog and mixed-signal circuits for precision INS instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop next-generation quantum instruments, leveraging your expertise in electronic design and noise mitigation strategies.
  • Design and implement analog and mixed-signal circuits, ensuring high precision and reliability.
  • Select and procure components, working closely with purchasing to ensure timely delivery and assembly of PCBAs.
  • Develop and optimize schematic and layout designs, with a focus on signal integrity and critical board layout techniques.
  • Assist with board bring-up and debugging, creating test scripts and documentation to support validation.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to software engineers, ensuring seamless integration of your circuits with their programming efforts.
  • Contribute to the development process, identifying areas for continuous improvement and implementing changes through task tickets (Jira).
Requirements
  • BSEE/MSEE degree with substantial course/lab/intern work in analog circuit design, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of electronic noise sources, measurement techniques, and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience with EDA tools for schematic capture and PCB layout, as well as simulation using Spice.
  • Proficiency in laboratory test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, and voltmeters.
  • Ability to write test code for scripting languages such as Python or TCL to control laboratory equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Signal Integrity analysis tools for high-speed circuit design.
  • Knowledge of EMI and ESD requirements, with experience designing and optimizing electronics to meet these standards.
  • Experience with EM tools for PCB board signal integrity and optimization.
  • IPC certifications in PCB Design and/or Connectors.
  • Experience with designing PCB Flex boards and high-density PCB design techniques such as HDI.
