About the Company:
Our client is a rapidly expanding, multi-million dollar global manufacturer based in Whiting, IN. With a significant international footprint, this organization presents an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain extensive exposure to the month-end closing process, contribute to process enhancements, and collaborate closely with senior management.
Role Summary:
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Staff Accountant will have the chance to engage with various facets of the business. By working collaboratively across departments, this role allows for substantial contributions to the company’s success and offers a fast-track career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the month-end closing activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
2. Support the preparation of financial statements and assist in the month-end and quarterly closing processes.
3. Oversee the creation of monthly consolidation financial packets for senior management.
4. Collaborate with both internal and external auditors, generating necessary audit expense reports.
5. Execute essential accounting functions, including month-end closing, financial statement preparation, and fixed asset management.
6. Prepare various state sales and use tax filings.
7. Conduct and review monthly account reconciliations, including variance analysis.
8. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
9. Lead the reconciliation of intercompany foreign accounts.
10. Assist in the preparation of monthly entries on a global scale to finalize international financials.
11. Work with internal and external tax teams to prepare tax returns.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the manufacturing sector. Proficiency in MS Excel and Word is essential, along with strong business communication and analytical skills. Attention to detail is crucial for success in this role.
