Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Supervisor to join our team at Touro Infirmary. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and repair of our buildings, grounds, and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the daily activities of the staff in the department who are involved in installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of the building systems.
  • Supervise emergency and major repair jobs, ensuring a safe environment for all personnel and visitors.
  • Supervise staff and schedules activities for in-house staff and service vendors, including electrical and facilities staff, service vendors, and subordinates.
  • Assist with training of new personnel and ensure that regulatory standards and codes are met.
  • Review the maintenance software program daily to prioritize and assign work orders, monthly preventative maintenance work orders for the buildings, special systems, and equipment assets.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 1 (one) year of experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance in a supervisory capacity within the health care, hotel, and/or construction industry.
  • General knowledge of hospital operations, working knowledge of crafts trades, and ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to supervise and interact with personnel, general knowledge of building systems functions, and ability to properly select and assign workers to the task at hand.
  • Familiar with Joint Commission requirements for Environment of Care and Life Safety, NFPA Codes, and computerized maintenance software programs.
