GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

New York Health Care Inc. is currently seeking a full-time bilingual English/Spanish Patient Services Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in managing patient intake processes and ensuring a smooth transition into our services.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Handle patient referral information, including demographics and necessary clinical data for financial reimbursement.
  • Engage with patients to provide education on the Managed Long Term Care Program.
  • Input referrals into our internal database, ensuring accurate color-coded references and comments.
  • Confirm eligibility and benefits for all types of insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial plans, through online resources and direct communication with insurance representatives.
  • Collaborate with Managed Care Insurance service representatives to verify coverage and obtain initial evaluation authorizations for home care services.
  • Perform data entry of insurance details into the Agency's system to facilitate timely reimbursement.
  • Maintain daily data entry of documents and patient clinical information.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience in health insurance is preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience, particularly in a phone-based environment.
  • Familiarity with general office procedures and equipment.
  • Excellent customer service and follow-up skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adept at software navigation.
Other:
  • Experience with HHA Exchange software is preferred.
  • Previous experience in home care intake is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of referral sources is beneficial.
