Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Social Services Coordinator to join our team at The Salvation Army Eastern Territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing social services to individuals and families in need, including intake interviews, food pantry program, Good Neighbor Fund, Veolia Water Company, and other special annual assistance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake interviews with clients to determine their needs and develop a plan to address those needs.
  • Manage the food pantry program, including ordering food supplies, organizing food drives, and distributing food bags.
  • Provide guidance and intake for local clients for the Good Neighbor Fund, Veolia Water Company, and other special annual assistance programs.
  • Plan, organize, and implement regular annual special assistance programs, including scheduling events, securing volunteers and resources, and providing guidance and intake for local clients.
  • Represent The Salvation Army at local networking opportunities and attend regular training opportunities.
  • Oversee the community service workers and provide necessary reports and letters confirming their hours worked.
  • Manage front office volunteers and senior workers.
  • Answer all phone calls and perform other duties as assigned by the Corps Officers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field.
  • 2 years' experience in a related field.
  • Commitment and desire to assist those in need.
  • Understanding of and desire to assist in fulfilling the mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Well-organized and able to prioritize.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under little supervision.
