Position Summary

We are looking for motivated and highly skilled individuals to join our laboratory, which focuses on the analysis and exploitation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) relevant to national security. Our mission involves collaboration with law enforcement, military, and intelligence sectors to collect and disseminate forensic data and intelligence, aiming to disrupt IED networks and prevent future threats.


The selected Electronics Technician will utilize their technical and analytical skills to conduct circuit analysis, develop precise device schematics, and perform in-depth electronics research. The insights gained will be crucial for military leadership in making informed policy decisions regarding force protection and managing significant acquisition programs for explosive-resistant technologies.


Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting reverse engineering of IEDs to understand their functionality and triggering mechanisms.
  • Documenting electronic circuit schematics utilized in IEDs.
  • Supporting signal analysis and RF characterization of wireless IEDs.
  • Recovering digital forensic data from electronic memory within IEDs.
  • Assisting in the creation of replicas of actual IEDs for training and demonstration purposes.
  • Providing timely responses to critical information requests.
  • Developing tools to facilitate research and analysis of IED electronics.
  • Offering technical expertise in the development of software tools.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electronics or a related technical field, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency with electronic and computer equipment, electronic analysis, schematic drawing, circuit design software, and soldering techniques.
  • Experience in testing electronic devices using standard laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Ability to analyze, generate schematics, and troubleshoot electronic devices at the component level.
  • Knowledge of electronic circuit design and PCB layout.
  • Strong written communication skills for preparing reports, test plans, and training materials.
  • Capability to present findings effectively to clients and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with a customer-focused approach.

Security Clearance Requirement

Candidates must possess and maintain a minimum DoD TOP SECRET level security clearance.
