About the Role

The ESS substitute custodian plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of school facilities, ensuring a smooth and productive learning environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance duties before, during, and after school hours to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Clean all areas of school buildings, including floors, windows, furniture, bathrooms, and classrooms, to district standards
  • Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, supporting teachers in setting up and maintaining furniture and equipment
  • Deliver supplies and materials to designated areas of the building, ensuring efficient operations
  • Complete grounds keeping duties, including lawn care and landscaping, to maintain a visually appealing and safe outdoor environment
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • State/FBI Criminal History Clearance
  • VA Child Protective Service Clearance
  • Tuberculosis Test
  • Drug Screen (varies by district)
