As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors, while also contributing to the development of new treatments for patients in need.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
- Evaluate and manage donor reactions, which occur at the facility, as outlined in our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Manage donor deferral, reviewing test results and notifying donors of unsuitable test results per applicable SOPs.
- Initiate and investigate Post Donation Information (PDI), referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
- Assist the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program as required, including conducting pre-placement evaluations of new hires and maintaining employee medical records.
- Graduate of a recognized educational program.
- Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
