We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors, while also contributing to the success of our plasma collection operations.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
- Evaluate and manage donor reactions, which occur at the facility, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Manage donor deferral, reviewing test results and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
- Initiate and investigate Post Donation Information (PDI) and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary.
- Assist the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program, including conducting pre-placement evaluations, supporting vaccination programs, and maintaining employee medical records.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification required.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Able to satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
