Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Toddler Teacher to join our team at the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg. As a key member of our early childhood education team, you will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum that aligns with the YMCA's educational standards and promotes the cognitive, social, and emotional development of our children.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a well-organized and safe classroom environment that encourages active learning and promotes positive behavior.
  • Parent Engagement: Foster strong relationships with parents through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and opportunities for parental involvement in the classroom.
  • Staff Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other early childhood educators to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program.
  • Program Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of new programs and initiatives that align with the YMCA's mission and goals.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: At least 6 months to one year of experience in a preschool teaching role.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff; knowledge of child development principles and practices.
  • Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain any required certifications or training (e.g. DCF MODS, CPR/First Aid).
Benefits
  • Competitive Compensation: $16.00-$21.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
