HSSConnect Representative

Full Time/Hybrid Role

Working Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm

HSSConnect facilitates referrals for patients seeking medical attention with HSS physicians for orthopedic and rheumatologic conditions. Referrals are managed through phone and email communications. HSSConnect representatives are committed to delivering the highest standard of customer service; ensuring prompt and precise referrals to patients, while treating all inquiring individuals with care and empathy when providing physician referral information. The HSSConnect Representative reports directly to the Manager of HSSConnect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, advise, and direct patients to HSS physicians using an automated referral system.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all HSS physicians across various service lines and offsite locations.
  • Connect patients to the appropriate medical office based on their condition, insurance, location, availability, and patient preferences.
  • Manage email queue volume received via the HSS referral website for physician referral requests.
  • Document and close all cases utilizing Salesforce.
  • Stay informed about insurance policies and revenue cycle processes.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with various healthcare-specific software applications.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor and adhere to business attire standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of scheduling parameters within the practice.
  • Possess strong computer skills.
  • Demonstrate willingness to stay updated on HSS research and marketing initiatives.
  • Exhibit competency in learning medical terminology.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of inbound and outbound calls.

Educational Background:

  • A college degree or equivalent experience is required.
