Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Leave Coordinator to join our Human Resources team at North American Dental Group (NADG). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and guidance on all phases of unemployment, ADA, leaves, and workers' compensation activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Counseling and Guidance: Provide expert advice and support to employees and supervisors on their rights and responsibilities under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Leave Administration: Handle the FMLA leave administration process from initial notice to leave eligibility, medical certification, and follow-up with healthcare providers.
  • Correspondence and Documentation: Compose and send correspondence, ensure timely responses, and maintain accurate documentation as required by the FMLA.
  • Leave Progress Updates: Keep leaders informed on leave progress and any issues that may arise.
  • Leave Laws and Benefits: Educate leaders and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, state leave, workers' compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
  • Return-to-Work Process: Coordinate the return-to-work process for employees returning from FMLA, workers' compensation, ADA, and other leaves.
  • Accommodation Program: Develop and administer the employee accommodation program in compliance with the ADA, partnering with HRBPs on the interactive process.
  • Workers' Compensation Program: Administer the workers' compensation program in compliance with state laws and NADG policy, reviewing reports of on-the-job injuries and conducting investigations as necessary.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with OSHA Injury and Illness Recordkeeping and Reporting requirements, including maintaining the OSHA #300 log and cooperating with investigations.
  • Training and Education: Educate, counsel, and train leaders on FMLA, leaves, accommodations, and workers' compensation, researching and drafting recommended changes to existing and new policies and procedures.
  • Vendor Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, including disability, unemployment, and workers' compensation vendors.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular reporting to leaders on leave status, workers' compensation claims, and unemployment, managing the shared HR email inbox and HR fax.
  • Confidentiality and Knowledge: Preserve confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files, maintaining knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of Human Resource experience.
  • Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Current and valid driver's license and car insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, with intermediate Excel skills preferred.
