Description

Overview

As a Leave Administrator, you will oversee the administration of various leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, and workers' compensation claims. Your role will involve close collaboration with external vendors to ensure compliance and effective management of all leave-related cases. You will be responsible for maintaining current knowledge of applicable regulations and company policies, providing exceptional support to employees and HR partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary expert on leave management, ADA compliance, and workers' compensation programs, working under the guidance of Third-Party Vendors (TPA).
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure adherence to OSHA and workers' compensation regulations.
  • Establish reporting mechanisms to identify cases requiring legal intervention.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and other necessary documentation.
  • Manage case administration and coordinate with vendors on claims, including conducting investigations into reported incidents.
  • Work with management to develop return-to-work plans and accommodations.
  • Engage in discussions with employees regarding their leave options.
  • Ensure timely submission of all reportable claims to the vendor.
  • Coordinate leave claims with FMLA processes.
  • Work closely with Management and Payroll to ensure accurate compensation and accruals during leave periods.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and collaborate on leave and workers' compensation matters.
  • Communicate with management regarding employee leave applications and decisions made by TPA.
  • Maintain contact with vendors during employee leaves and assist with the return-to-work process.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization at hearings as needed and collaborate with supervisors to assess claims and enhance safety measures.
  • Manage discretionary leave requests.
  • Ensure timely completion and review of incident reports.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This position primarily operates in a remote setting, with access to office facilities as needed. Standard office equipment will be utilized regularly.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include occasional standing, walking, and lifting of office supplies up to twenty pounds.

Position Requirements

Education:
  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, or two years of relevant experience.
Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of two years managing leave cases (FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation).
  • Thorough understanding of government regulations and employment laws.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Excellent collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in intellectual and developmental disabilities or complex healthcare.
  • SHRM-CP certification.
  • Leave Administrator Certification.
  • Experience with Third-Party Vendors.
