Summary
As a Leave Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing all leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, and workers' compensation claims. This role requires a collaborative approach to manage cases effectively, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies. You will provide exceptional support to employees, management, and HR partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary resource for leave programs, including ADA and workers' compensation, while working closely with Third-Party Vendors (TPA).
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and workers' compensation laws through effective vendor collaboration.
- Develop and maintain reporting systems to identify cases requiring legal attention.
- Manage OSHA logs and other relevant tracking systems.
- Coordinate case management and administrative functions with vendors, including conducting investigations into claims.
- Work with management to create return-to-work plans and accommodations.
- Engage in interactive discussions with employees regarding their leave options.
- Ensure timely submission of reportable claims to the vendor.
- Collaborate with payroll to maintain accurate records for employees on leave.
- Foster strong relationships with vendors and HR partners regarding leave and workers' compensation cases.
Additional Responsibilities
- Represent the organization at hearings as needed.
- Oversee discretionary leave management.
- Ensure all incident reports are completed and reviewed promptly.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
This position is primarily remote, with the option for occasional office visits. Standard office equipment will be utilized.
Physical Demands
The role may require occasional standing, walking, and lifting of office supplies up to twenty pounds.
Position Requirements
Education:
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or two years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of two years managing leave cases, including FMLA and workers' compensation.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience in the healthcare sector, particularly with complex needs.
- Relevant certifications in HR or leave administration.
