Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Office Manager to join our team at DLA Piper. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily administrative duties and business functions of our office, working closely with department leadership to meet the overall needs of the office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and support administrative duties in the office, ensuring a smooth operation.
  • Manage office business center, hospitality, and reception, adhering to protocols and processes.
  • Timely report and communicate with regional office administrator, relaying information and escalating office, employee relations, or other issues/challenges.
  • Represent and support firm decisions and initiatives, ensuring firm procedures and policies are followed.
  • Collaborate with various committees, departments, and Regional Office Administrator to create meaningful office and business professional relations events to drive office engagement and culture.
  • Maintain office administration and operations budgets for all areas of responsibility.
  • Assist with office layout planning and office moves.
  • Serve as liaison with landlord and building engineering.
  • Responsible for office communications regarding building notices, firm holiday notices, and other announcements as appropriate.
  • Oversee local sports ticket program, if applicable.
  • Schedule and provide onsite support in collaboration with regional office administrator for local partner meetings.
  • Ensure success of local meetings and events in collaboration with onsite team.
  • Provide onsite IT, Information Governance, and other department support as needed; escalate issues to appropriate department manager.
  • Handle onsite needs and collaborate with other departments for new hires and departures.
  • Identify opportunities for process and office management improvement and relays same to department management.
  • Support large projects and programs in the office which may include IT, HR, D&I, Accounting/Billing, Client Events, etc. Participate in and/or helps socialize rollouts of same.
  • Maintain confidential information in a professional and trustworthy manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provides leadership to and manages a team of business professionals to include coaching, mentoring and professional development. Responsible for providing performance feedback on a regular basis.
Requirements
  • 4 years' management experience in a professional services or law firm environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree.

  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as (a) working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; (b) participating in digital/virtual conference calls; (c) participating in meetings as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as assigned.
Work Environment
  • On-site - Regular in-office presence with some flexibility for work-from-home.
