Position Overview
The role of Engineer II, Technical Policy Analyst - Sustainability Policy is pivotal in shaping Honda's future. This position is essential for executing product and business strategies amidst rapid technological and societal changes. The Sustainability and Business Development Business Unit is focused on steering new products and services towards Honda's Triple Zero objectives: achieving 100% carbon neutrality, resource circularity, and clean energy utilization.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting our team through exceptional organizational, communication, and execution skills. This role involves conducting technical policy analysis and modeling to evaluate the implications of various policies on Honda's sustainability initiatives. You will engage in external policy advocacy in areas such as electric vehicle charging, renewable energy, and resource circularity, collaborating with experts from think tanks, universities, and governmental agencies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engagement with Governmental Entities: Collaborate with regulatory bodies to navigate technical policies affecting Honda's environmentally focused products and services.
  • Policy Analysis: Develop technoeconomic simulations and provide comprehensive engineering assessments to inform business and technology teams.
  • Interaction with NGOs: Manage relationships with non-governmental organizations, offering insights on their policy proposals based on thorough analysis.
  • Research Coordination: Oversee research contracts with academic institutions, guiding the development of research themes relevant to Honda's sustainability goals.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related fields, or a degree in business, economics, or political science with relevant experience.
