Job Summary

The Hobart and William Smith Colleges seek a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions for International Recruitment. This is a key role in our international recruitment strategy, responsible for developing and implementing a robust recruitment plan that utilizes both in-person and virtual methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive international recruitment strategy that includes in-person and virtual recruitment methods.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective students, their families, secondary school personnel, alumni, and other stakeholders to provide guidance and support throughout the admission process.
  • Conduct virtual information sessions and admissions interviews, often in different time zones, to engage with international students and promote the Colleges.
  • Grow the Colleges' international presence through recruitment travel, social media, and partnerships with alumni and current students.
  • Evaluate admission applications and make recommendations for admission and scholarship decisions.
  • Represent the Colleges at international professional organizations and maintain connections with enrolled international students to utilize them as ambassadors for recruitment purposes.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to unique social, cultural, and economic circumstances of international students.
  • Serve as an alternate Designated School Official (DSO) and provide support to the International Student Success Manager and guidance to the F-1 International Community as needed.
  • Represent and embody the Colleges' educational philosophy and mission.

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree, a valid driver's license, passport, and a willingness to travel internationally are required. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized individual with excellent communication and customer service skills, able to work under pressure and maintain confidential information. Knowledge of enrollment systems applications, Microsoft Office, and strong computer skills are also essential.
