Power Management/Electrical Design Engineer Job Overview:

This role involves a comprehensive range of engineering tasks focused on the planning and design of products, tools, machines, and other electrically operated devices. The engineer will collaborate closely with various engineering disciplines to enhance production quality, efficiency, and output.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Lead project management and design initiatives for new RELL Power products.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for existing RELL Power products.
  • Develop product proposals, including risk assessments for potential new developments.
  • Engage in product review sessions and engineering discussions.
  • Design and develop switching power supplies and ultracapacitor-based modules.
  • Conduct PCB design and layout, with proficiency in Cadence OrCad/Allegro PCB Designer being advantageous.
  • Organize work schedules to meet deadlines and adhere to technical specifications.
  • Evaluate the progress of other engineers and assess the outcomes of their work.
  • Maintain fluency in relevant technologies and application domains.
  • Produce comprehensive, accurate, and industry-standard electrical schematics.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites for installation, testing, and troubleshooting may be required.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in design processes and critical thinking skills.
  • Authorization to work in the US is mandatory.

Supervisory Duties: Oversee lower-level electrical engineers and CAD drafters.

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated individual with a proven ability to concentrate efforts, navigate challenges, and achieve key objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience or a master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Desirable previous design experience in areas such as:
  • Energy storage, power generation, renewable energy, and power conversion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Work Environment:

  • On-site office/laboratory setting.
