Position Overview:

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is in search of a part-time Registered Nurse to join our Wound Healing Program/Clinic. This role operates under the guidance of the Wound Care Director and the Medical Director, ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical services for patients with wounds in both inpatient and outpatient environments. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate personalized patient care while respecting individual spiritual and cultural differences, adhering to the PA State Board of Nursing Licensure requirements and ANA Scope of Standard of Practice.
  • Develop and implement individualized teaching plans for patients and their families.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to make informed decisions regarding patient care concerns.
  • Communicate effectively about patient status and proactively address potential adverse outcomes.
  • Stay updated on wound care knowledge and treatment modalities.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation.
  • Engage in Performance/Process Improvement initiatives.
  • Understand and uphold patient rights and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with physicians as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate expertise in wound management, treatments, and expected outcomes.
  • Oversee and coordinate the delivery of care for wound patients, ensuring total quality care and monitoring outcomes.
  • Provide insights on budget considerations affecting care delivery and clinic operations.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and maintain proper hygiene practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an RN program required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Licensure: Current nursing license in Pennsylvania or a multistate license from compact member states/territories required.
  • Experience: Previous wound care experience preferred; minimum of three years of direct patient care experience is desirable.
  • Certifications: Current CPR Certification or BLS required; Wound Care Certification preferred.
  • Skills: Strong critical thinking, judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to manage stress effectively; proficiency in basic computer skills.
