Financial Transaction Coordinator

About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team at Abacus. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately and promptly processing employee payable transactions, assisting with day-to-day accounting needs, and serving as a backup for the Accounts Payable Fiscal Technician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process employee payable transactions, including travel expenses, meals, and payroll
- Assist the Payroll Accountant and Accounts Payable Accountant with reporting and postings
- Serve as backup for the Accounts Payable Fiscal Technician
- Perform other accounts payable functions and financial transactions
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with MS Office Products
- Familiarity with MS Office products and ability to learn new software
- Previous experience in a banking or cash handling position (including retail)
- Problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of previous experience supporting payroll and/or accounts payable
- Completion of Associate's degree or higher
Work Environment:
This is a contract position with a flexible schedule of 29 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to meet the needs of our clients.
