Job Summary

The Host position is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, welcoming them to our restaurant and directing them to their tables or the bar. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Guest Service: Greet guests as they enter the restaurant, seat them, and ensure quality of product and service in an efficient manner.
  • Phone Management: Answer all phone calls within 3 rings using the proper phone answering procedures.
  • Communication: Be cheerful, helpful, and take accurate phone messages for the Manager when necessary.
  • Product Knowledge: Be able to give directions to the restaurant and know all food and retail products offered.
  • Sales Approach: Apply a positive suggestive sales approach to guide guests.
  • Cleaning and Safety: Assist with keeping the restaurant clean and safe, adhering to daily cleaning calendar tasks.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Ensure complete guest satisfaction before they exit and inform a Manager if not.
  • Wait Times: Accurately quote wait times.
  • Server Support: Assist servers whenever possible.
  • Retail Support: Responsible for assisting guests in the retail area, folding and organizing retail materials as needed.
  • POS Operations: Be able to operate POS terminals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Clear Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical Abilities: The physical ability to carry out the functions of the job description.
  • Cash Handling: The ability to responsibly handle cash transactions.
  • Teamwork: The ability to participate in a team work environment.
Work Environment

The work environment for this role is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing excellent guest service. As a Host, you will be working in a team environment, communicating with guests and colleagues to ensure a seamless dining experience. You will be required to navigate throughout the restaurant, move and grasp items up to five pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. You will also be required to bend and stoop as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
