About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Payroll Senior Manager to join the Workforce Payroll Operations & Administration team. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll operations, including US payroll processing and employee care cases related to payroll.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure payroll system is configured in compliance with federal, state, and local laws by establishing controls, monitoring results, and collaborating with other control partners.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain payroll policies, procedures to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage teams of payroll professionals located domestically and internationally.
  • Analyze payroll data and metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize payroll processes.
  • Serve as an escalation point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, resolving issues and providing guidance to employees and management.
  • Manage payroll audits and ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and readily available.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and changes in payroll legislation to ensure the organization remains compliant and competitive.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: HR Operations, Accounting, Payroll, Payroll Tax, Compliance, or Operational Risk, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of Management experience
  • 5+ years of payroll and timekeeping systems experience
  • Proficiency in the Workday Payroll Application with the ability to transform a payroll function by leveraging new technology that is both scalable and cost effective.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to motivate staff to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including multi-state payroll compliance.
  • Payroll experience end to end
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Excel experience with pivot tables, V- look up
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
Work Environment:
  • Hybrid work schedule in one of the posted locations: Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX or Mpls, MN
  • Travel up to 25%
