J-Tec Material Handling is a global logistics and applied engineering provider, part of the Katoen Natie group of companies. Our organization is decentralized in business units, each acting independently to offer tailor-made solutions to our clients.

We are the process engineering business unit of the group, providing material handling and process engineering solutions to industry market leaders in the chemical and food industries worldwide. Our team designs and builds turnkey process installations for our customers, striving to make a difference in terms of creativity, flexibility, and performance.

Job Description

As a Project Engineer, you will be a key member of the project's core team, responsible for several technical aspects of the project and supporting the team in the engineering and organization of the project until delivery.

You will report to the project manager and together manage technical projects for industrial market leaders in the food and chemical industry. Our projects can reach up to 40MIO euro, with an average implementation time of one to two years.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and request quotations for various types of equipment
  • Prepare and follow up orders
  • Prepare data sheets
  • Organize different types of transport
  • Manage P&ID
  • Assist with as-built documentation
  • Visit suppliers to carry out factory acceptance tests
  • Visit customers for project meetings
  • Follow up onsite the different stages of the project
Requirements
  • You own a higher technical degree (Bachelor / Master)
  • Relevant experience is an asset, but we welcome unexperienced candidates who are willing to learn
  • You have broad technical interests, both practical and theoretical, with a general interest in process engineering
  • You have good communication skills and are fluent in English
  • You know how to keep an overview and focus on the progress of the planning, you possess good organizational skills and can work independently and as a team player at the same time
  • You are willing to travel on short trips for projects and a 2-month training session in Belgium
