Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced On-Duty House Administrator to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our departments and personnel during assigned periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume primary administrative responsibility and accountability for all departments and personnel during assigned periods.
  • Serve as a resource for all departments and personnel during assigned periods.
  • Act as a liaison between physicians, staff, patients, families, UH departments, and other institutions and agencies to promote and facilitate communication, problem-solving, decision-making, crisis intervention, resource utilization, and conflict management.
  • Report summary of incidents to senior management as required.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to promote patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Assist in the orientation and development of supervisory personnel.
  • Participate actively and strongly support continuous quality improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Essential:
    • Program Graduate
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support w/in 30 days of position
    • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
  • Nonessential:
    • Master's Degree
    • Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
    • 5 years directly related experience
Working Conditions

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Working conditions: Essential - Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE
