POSITION OVERVIEW

As a vital member of the management team, the Operations Deputy Director collaborates closely with the general manager at a designated unit managing significant financial volume. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and leading a specific area or cost center within the client site. Responsibilities may encompass budget adherence, sanitation, safety, compliance with health regulations, food preparation, service delivery, and staff training and development, all while following established systems and procedures. The Operations Deputy Director engages with staff, customers, guests, and other personnel within the facility, providing coaching to direct reports and ensuring that team members perform effectively to meet departmental objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Client, Customer, and Guest Engagement:
    • Exhibits a strong commitment to client, customer, and guest satisfaction, actively seeking feedback.
    • Mentors team members on the significance of customer satisfaction.
    • Fosters positive relationships with other departments within the facility.

  • Financial Performance:
    • Utilizes company systems to monitor compliance with financial guidelines and reports any discrepancies.
    • May oversee sales to ensure targets are achieved and explores new revenue enhancement opportunities.
    • Reviews weekly cost accountability and communicates variances to the general manager.
    • Ensures adherence to budgetary guidelines within the area of responsibility.
    • Monitors waste, overproduction, and quality standards to optimize operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum of eight years of professional experience, including at least six years in food service management.
  • A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent job-related experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of food service systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage other supervisors or managers.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic mathematical and financial management skills are required.
