Job Description:

As an ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST, you will play a crucial role in a high-paced, mission-critical environment supporting a Department of Defense joint service organization. Your expertise in administrative functions will be essential in providing top-tier support to our government clients. You will utilize your technical and customer service skills to address challenges in personnel management, reception, general office operations, travel orders, and claims processing efficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate military personnel actions, including reception, performance evaluations, awards processing, and ensuring compliance with mandatory training.
  • Manage front desk operations, providing customer support, greeting visitors, and overseeing access within secure facilities.
  • Process transactions through the Defense Travel System (DTS) and manage travel-related documentation.
  • Oversee office space calendars and conference room bookings using SharePoint.
  • Prepare various types of correspondence for government clients and external agencies in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Maintain and update databases relevant to administrative responsibilities.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to collaborative efforts.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of office supplies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing efficient administrative procedures and policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum of four (4) years in providing administrative support within a high operational tempo environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with the Defense Travel System (DTS).
  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated experience in drafting correspondence, maintaining databases, and coordinating with external agencies. Ability to manage classified materials and conduct professional interactions with military and civilian personnel.
