POSITION OVERVIEW


The Healthcare Education Program Manager at Johnson Memorial Health Services is tasked with the strategic planning, organization, development, and oversight of all in-house educational initiatives across the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as directed by the administration, to uphold the highest standards of quality care.

This role reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and embodies the core values of Johnson Memorial Health Services:

Key Responsibilities

The Healthcare Education Program Manager will undertake the following responsibilities:

1. Establish clear goals and objectives for staff development initiatives, including orientation and ongoing education.

2. Coordinate comprehensive training programs across the facility; responsible for planning, budgeting, marketing, evaluating, and documenting the overall effectiveness of these programs.

3. Maintain detailed records of training activities and employee progress, while assessing the effectiveness of educational programs. Collaborate with regulatory bodies as necessary.

4. Participate in and/or lead specific projects and other assigned duties.

5. Plan and implement research in educational methodologies utilizing adult learning principles. Provide guidance, support, and evaluation for instructors. May develop and deliver training sessions.

6. Serve as the Administrator for Health Stream, ensuring all mandatory online learning modules are accessible annually. Monitor completion rates to meet compliance standards, collaborating with department managers and HR personnel regarding non-compliant employees.


7. Identify suitable delivery methods and provide recommendations to management, including options for external presenters, internal resources, train-the-trainer models, self-directed learning, or computer-based training.

8. Maintain accurate records of education, training, skills, and experience while ensuring the utmost confidentiality.


9. Foster relationships with local educational institutions to facilitate clinical and observational experiences and manage requests for additional clinical opportunities from external organizations.

10. Stay informed about current trends in Health Education within the healthcare sector.

11. Coordinate or deliver training for personnel requiring BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.

12. Act as the primary RN contact for new employee health screening evaluations. Research and analyze state and regulatory healthcare worker pre-placement and vaccination requirements, following up with new hires as necessary to ensure compliance with immunization standards.

13. Provide and facilitate orientation and training for new employees.


14. Assist the Human Resources team with general nursing inquiries related to an employee's capacity to return to work following illness or injury.

15. Serve as a liaison for employees seeking services under workers' compensation.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current RN license.

- 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare environment (required). Acute care experience is preferred.

- Completion of instructor training for ACLS, BLS, and PALS within one year of hire.

- Familiarity with EPIC EHR is preferred.

- Proficient in computer applications (Windows, MS Office, etc.).

- Knowledge of external regulations impacting the area of responsibility.

Required Licenses

- Registered Nurse (RN)

Travel

- Minimal travel may be required, up to 5%.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, as well as standing, bending, and moving.

- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

- May be exposed to patients with infectious diseases.
