Position Overview: We are seeking a BIM Manager to oversee our Building Information Modeling initiatives. This role is based in our Raleigh, NC office and requires a strong understanding of digital construction methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage BIM projects, ensuring effective digital construction processes from design through to project completion.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all BIM-related workflows, facilitating communication between project teams and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the estimation, modeling, and detailing processes for various projects.
  • Resolve any BIM design challenges that arise during project execution.
  • Create and manage Revit families tailored to specific project requirements.
  • Distribute coordinated digital documents among project teams to ensure alignment.
  • Coordinate with IT for necessary hardware upgrades to support BIM operations.
  • Engage with subcontractors to manage and update electronic models effectively.
  • Integrate BIM with project deliverables, including submittals, construction models, and schedules.
  • Promote the value of BIM within the organization and demonstrate its benefits to project managers.
  • Oversee BIM resources and manage additional assigned duties.

Technical Skills and Support:

  • Implement and manage supporting software for BIM processes.
  • Establish and maintain BIM libraries and programs for the organization.
  • Evaluate and recommend new BIM-related software and technologies.
  • Stay updated on best practices for utilizing Revit and BIM technologies.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of relevant BIM software.
  • Work with various file types based on client specifications.
  • Import different model file formats into Navisworks, Revit, and federated models.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Revit, Inventor, and NavisWorks for design purposes.
  • Extract and develop data from models for estimating and layout functions.
  • Review and develop drawing package templates for accuracy.
  • Ensure quality control for shop drawings, verifying accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in creating and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow standards.

Training and Development:

  • Provide ongoing technical support and training to project engineers and managers on BIM tools.
  • Maintain proficiency in software through continuous learning and application.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in modeling, design, drafting, or engineering.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of current BIM practices and software.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; certification in Revit or other Autodesk software is preferred.
  • Have knowledge of industrial construction and contract documentation across all design levels.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and other technical or construction-related software is advantageous.
  • Possess strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Exhibit excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Build positive relationships with employees, management, suppliers, and clients.
