Position Overview: We are seeking a BIM Manager to oversee our Building Information Modeling initiatives. This role is essential in ensuring the successful execution of BIM projects, including the integration of digital construction methodologies throughout various project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams in the estimation, modeling, and detailing processes.
  • Address and resolve BIM design challenges as they arise.
  • Facilitate the setup of BIM projects for various teams.
  • Create and manage Revit families tailored to project specifications.
  • Distribute and manage coordinated digital documentation for project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with IT for necessary hardware upgrades to support BIM operations.
  • Engage with subcontractors to ensure the accuracy and coordination of electronic models.
  • Align BIM processes with project requirements, including submittals and schedules.
  • Advocate for the value of BIM within the organization and educate project managers on its benefits.
  • Oversee BIM resources and ensure efficient management of BIM workflows.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Technical Expertise:

  • Manage the implementation of software tools that support BIM processes.
  • Establish and maintain BIM libraries and programs for the organization.
  • Evaluate and recommend new BIM-related software and technologies.
  • Stay updated on best practices for Revit and BIM utilization.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of BIM software.
  • Work with various file types to meet customer requirements.
  • Import and integrate different model file formats into Navisworks, Revit, and federated models.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Revit, Inventor, and NavisWorks for design purposes.
  • Generate and export data from models for estimating and layout functions.
  • Develop and review templates for drawing packages.
  • Ensure quality control for the accuracy and completeness of shop drawings.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of BIM documentation and workflow standards.

Training and Development:

  • Provide technical support and training for Project Engineers and Project Managers on BIM tools.
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in software through ongoing training and practical application.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in modeling, design, drafting, or engineering.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of current BIM practices and software.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; Autodesk software certification is preferred.
  • Have a solid understanding of industrial construction and contract documentation across all design levels.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and other technical or construction software is beneficial.
  • Possess strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail.
  • Build positive relationships with employees, management, suppliers, and customers.
