Job Description

At Visualutions, Inc., we are dedicated to providing public health consulting services to community health centers across the country. As a Dental Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and financially strong operation of our clients' businesses.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and research claims denials and contact payers to verify detailed denial reasons when necessary
  • Enter dental charges and perform diagnostic and procedural coding for dental
  • Review and analyze the dental record to accurately assign the responsible Attending Physician and Clinical Service in accordance with established guidelines
  • Contact patients to obtain accurate insurance information and complete appeals & reconsiderations for denied or rejected claims
  • Identify and communicate denial/rejection trends to management and resolve discrepancies
  • Navigate and research insurance policies & benefits for policy exclusions for patients and payer dental reimbursement policies and exclusions
  • Complete request for reconsideration forms while following payer requirements and review accounts for accuracy (payments and adjustments)
  • Posting electronic and manual payments – insurance and patient and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years dental billing experience
  • Familiar with CDT and ICD 10 codes
  • Must be familiar with dental terminology and procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with a commitment to excellent customer service
  • Capacity to work with sensitive patient information while maintaining confidentiality
  • Experience working with payer websites and aged AR
  • Experience in an FQHC environment is a plus
  • Athena One, EPIC, ECW, Intergy experience preferred
