Retail Support Specialist

Position Summary: The role of a Store Assistant is essential in delivering exceptional customer service while engaging in a variety of tasks within the store environment. Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in retail or grocery settings and have a passion for diverse responsibilities and continuous learning. A positive demeanor and strong communication abilities are critical for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities: Store Assistants are trained to offer versatile support across various clerk roles within the Co-op. Responsibilities may include:
- Operating the cash register
- Restocking shelves and maintaining product displays
- Receiving deliveries and managing inventory
- Ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of the store
- Assisting in food preparation
- Performing snow removal tasks
- Packaging bulk items for customers
Store Assistants are expected to have a comprehensive understanding of store operations and to provide assistance wherever necessary to support the overall team. Depending on operational needs, shifts may vary, including full or partial hours in specific departments or open shifts across multiple areas throughout the day. As a member of the Store Assistant team, proficiency in advanced processes is required, along with effective communication and the ability to perform various tasks as assigned. Please note that this is not a supervisory role.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, requiring a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 40 hours per week. The starting wage is $15.75, with consideration for experience. Availability to work on weekends is necessary.
