Job Overview

The Belfast Community Co-op is seeking a skilled Warehouse Receiving Specialist to manage and oversee the receipt of deliveries for our enhanced facility. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in operating forklifts, creating efficient systems, and communicating effectively with team members. We aim to provide an outstanding experience for both our internal and external customers while prioritizing safety in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities

The Warehouse Receiving Specialist will:

  • Oversee Delivery Coordination: Manage the receipt, inspection, and distribution of deliveries throughout the store. Ensure that all incoming products are checked for quality and accuracy, documenting any discrepancies.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts to facilitate safe and efficient handling of deliveries. Collaborate with the forklift team to ensure all products are received in optimal condition.
  • Vendor Relations: Maintain positive relationships with vendors and delivery personnel, ensuring compliance with store policies and procedures.
  • Facility Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment within the receiving areas and throughout the store, including outdoor spaces.
Essential Skills and Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in forklift operation and logistics management.
  • Familiarity with cooperative principles and retail operations.
  • Proficiency in using software for inventory management and reporting.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience in a leadership capacity.
Work Environment

This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. The Warehouse Receiving Specialist will engage with the public and team members regularly, contributing to a collaborative and respectful workplace culture.
