About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distribution Supervisor to join our team at McLane Company. As a key member of our warehouse leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our distribution center, ensuring that our customers receive high-quality products on time and in full.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and motivate a team of warehouse staff to achieve productivity, quality, and safety standards
  • Communicate company and division information to team members, ensuring they are informed and engaged
  • Listen, address, and follow up on team member concerns, questions, and problems
  • Facilitate communication within the warehouse leadership team and between division/warehouse leadership and team members
  • Implement department procedures to meet DC goals and standards, promoting them to and gaining buy-in from team members
  • Ensure department and warehouse procedures cut unnecessary costs, add value for customers, and improve morale and the work environment for team members
  • Supervise and manage daily work of department team members, creating and maintaining schedules and job assignments
  • Maintain all departmental paperwork, provide training as needed, and enforce all Distribution Center policies
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2 years distribution warehouse experience, preferably in the grocery industry
  • Experience leading large numbers of warehouse staff, with experience in hiring, training, motivating, and resolving employee relations issues
  • Computer knowledge, including experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to lead by example, possess good written and verbal communication skills, and be willing to listen and respond to team members
Working Conditions

The environment encompasses all areas of a Distribution Center, with material movement taking place throughout the facility. This position requires working inside most of the time, with occasional work in hot and cold temperature extremes and exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, noise, potentially harmful chemicals, solvents, and components.

Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times. This position has official supervisory responsibilities.
