Job Overview

The Field Vehicle Systems Technician is responsible for providing technical support for fleet vehicles, focusing on IT and electronic/mobility systems. This role requires a strong presence in the field, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update installation manuals for vehicle modifications to ensure proper component integration.
  • Participate in training sessions for new devices and project implementations.
  • Oversee the lifecycle management of services related to field support installations.
  • Collaborate with third-party suppliers and customers to refine vehicle dock kit specifications.
  • Secure ergonomic and safety approvals from the Fleet Services department before implementing changes.
  • Manage the configuration and repair of field devices, ensuring they meet operational needs.
  • Coordinate logistics for device movement within the service area.
  • Maintain an inventory for quick replacements and repairs.
  • Provide installation services for vehicle mounting systems and expand capabilities as needed.
  • Consult with suppliers to update vehicle kits, ensuring compatibility with new technology.
  • Review wiring and cabling changes resulting from updates to vehicle kits.
  • Manage the lifecycle of video capture and code blue devices for field installations.
  • Conduct necessary testing to ensure new models function with existing applications.
  • Provide on-site support across various locations, addressing specific needs of field-based service recipients.
  • Advise on improvements to the repair process to enhance efficiency and reduce service disruptions.
  • Safeguard specialized tools and equipment to prevent loss or damage.
  • Communicate effectively with end users regarding status updates and resolutions.
