Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team at Federal Express Corporation. As a key member of our Industrial Maintenance team, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and repair of material handling systems, ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on material handling systems, including mechanical power transmission, electrical, and PLC/controls.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with mechanical power transmission systems, identifying and resolving problems at the single component level.
  • Adhere to all applicable safety standards and promote a safe work environment by attending safety meetings and required trainings.
  • Assist in preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, working under the supervision of experienced technicians.
  • Participate in smaller scope projects, applying your skills and knowledge to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required, with a minimum of basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical or technical fields, such as agriculture, automotive, or other related areas.
  • Ability to solve basic mechanical or electrical problems, including understanding of basic engineering formulas.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to peers, managers, and outside vendors.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical systems, including PLC/controls and welding/fabrication.
  • Knowledge of mechanical drawings and manufacturers' manuals.
  • Ability to use digital multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with MIG or stick welding.
Working Conditions
  • Will need to use hand tools and possibly power tools.
  • May be working in hot or cold temperatures.
  • May need to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat.
