Job Title: Senior Environmental Manager

As a Senior Environmental Manager at Peter Kiewit Sons', you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's domestic construction sites comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement programs to ensure environmental compliance, including monitoring and management of environmental processes.
  • Supervise environmental processes and address potential violations and concerns.
  • Assist supervisors, managers, and others in obtaining and maintaining environmental permits.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations management to plan for compliance of new and modified processes and operations with environmental regulations.
  • Oversee the drafting and preparation of permit applications and renewals in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Participate in environmental issue investigations, overseeing reporting and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement environmental training programs.
  • Implement community right-to-know programs relative to the project's compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
  • Significant demonstrated experience related to environmental compliance for major transportation construction projects or similar.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, biology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of industry experience in environmental compliance, working knowledge of environmental codes and standards.
  • CPESC Certification is a plus.
  • ISO 14000 certifications is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and highly motivated.
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Requirements:

  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
