Join Elliot Health as a key member of our facilities management team, responsible for ensuring the optimal reliability and performance of our assets and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and operate all mechanical equipment, systems, and spaces throughout the facility.
- Perform periodic checks of unmanned machinery spaces to ensure designated machinery is operating correctly.
- Act to maintain or restore system/equipment to satisfactory operating condition.
- Start and operate boilers, chillers, blowers, pumps, compressors, generators, cooling towers, and other machinery to maintain plant operations.
- Observe system operations and ensure they are in accordance with established operating procedures and guidelines.
- Respond to various system alarms, including refrigeration, oxygen/piped gas, heating/cooling, boilers, and generators.
- Initiate "First Response" actions during emergency/contingency situations.
- Maintain boiler room and machine room logs, including steam, fuel, and water consumption data.
- Monitor the activities of after-hour maintenance personnel, contractors, or vendor personnel.
- Post-secondary school or vocational training preferred.
- Courses in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, sheet metal, automotive repair, ventilation, and clinical engineering preferred.
- A minimum of two-four (2-4) years of experience in plant operations and/or building maintenance required.
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
