Position Summary:
As a Billing Coordinator, you will be an essential part of our team, ensuring effective communication with funding sources. Reporting to the Billing Supervisor and collaborating with the Business Office Manager, admissions, and care coordination teams, you will serve as a key liaison. Your duties will encompass processing initial appeals and redeterminations, managing utilization review procedures, and securing necessary funding authorizations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Model positive behavior and maintain a supportive environment.
- Ensure confidentiality of all program participants.
- Proactively address issues and facilitate effective communication.
- Understand and implement relevant policies and procedures.
Essential Duties:
- Assist clients with inquiries related to billing and accounts.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant coding systems (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10) and standards.
- Identify and resolve non-payment issues effectively.
- Process initial appeals and redeterminations, including necessary documentation.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing billing efficiency and team performance.
- Stay informed on industry standards through ongoing education.
- Prepare business reports as required by management.
- Standardize workflow processes to maximize efficiency.
- Review records to determine payable diagnosis codes for new admissions.
- Process authorization requests for referrals and additional services.
- Maintain accurate records of claims communications.
- Provide billing records to the business team as needed.
- Serve as a billing and coding resource for the clinical team.
- Communicate account activities and concerns with the billing team.
- Process credit card payments for accounts receivable.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience in Accounts Receivable within the medical field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
- Prior experience in medical office or billing settings

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or advanced training in medical billing
Physical Requirements:
