Position Overview: As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role within our testing laboratory team, contributing significantly to our organizational goals. The software solutions you design will enhance test lab operations and promote efficiency gains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute standard engineering tasks to facilitate LabVIEW software development for automated systems utilized in the testing laboratory.
- These systems will include functionalities for system control, data acquisition, data storage, data retrieval, analysis, and reporting.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to establish and refine software requirements.
- Deliver LabVIEW programming to ensure effective and precise testing processes within the testing laboratory.
- Design and develop Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, incorporating hardware such as data acquisition devices, instrumentation, and sensors.
- Engage in discussions with the Data Acquisition (DAQ) team and collaborate with client group members to formulate software requirement specifications.
- Produce comprehensive product documentation and technical guidelines for the software developed.
- Offer technical support and training to client groups regarding our internal software systems.
- Collaborate with fellow software developers, both internally and externally, to enhance our operational capabilities.
- Partner with Test Lab Management, Test Engineers, and Test Technicians to fulfill client testing requirements and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in LabVIEW software development within a testing laboratory or comparable environment.
- Proficiency in Database Management Systems and their design principles, including SQL Server and SQL programming.
- Experience with a managed development language such as C# and the ability to maintain and enhance existing applications.
- Capability to independently manage individual projects while effectively handling multiple concurrent projects to meet deadlines.
- Adept at working in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment with structured development processes, while remaining adaptable to shifting priorities and requirements.
- Strong logical reasoning and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve software and hardware challenges.
- Familiarity with business efficiency software and Microsoft Suite Applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), as well as software DevOps tools (version control, configuration management, issue tracking).
