Position Summary

Proof of the Pudding is a renowned catering service recognized for its dedication to crafting exceptional culinary experiences from scratch. This commitment extends into the realm of Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services, where we deliver elevated concessions and premium offerings at various events, including collegiate sports, professional tournaments, and more.

We are currently in search of skilled Culinary Service Associates to support operations at a prominent university. The role involves providing food service for athletic events, special occasions, and student athletes. This position will oversee front-of-house operations at our Athlete Training Table and manage hospitality suites during significant sporting events.

This is a seasonal and part-time role, contingent upon the scheduling of athletic events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the arrangement of food stations, including the transportation of hot and cold food items throughout the service area.
  • Restock food items as required and directed.
  • Operate and provide service at interactive stations, such as a build-your-own smoothie bar.
  • Serve and clear food and beverages efficiently and professionally, adhering to proper serving techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area and collaborate with the front-of-house supervisor to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Manage time effectively to meet service demands.
  • Assist in inventory management and the setup and breakdown of events.
  • Report to the front-of-house supervisor and perform assigned tasks to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Follow established food handling and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist in the cleanup and transition of service areas for subsequent service times.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in serving or front-of-house roles.
  • Experience in high-volume catering or food service environments is preferred.
Special Skills:
  • Strong listening and communication abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with a focus on exceeding client expectations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a quick learning ability.

Work Environment

This position primarily operates within a food service environment, including kitchen and service areas, and may involve movement across various terrains.

Uniform Requirements

Compliance with company uniform standards as outlined in the associate handbook is expected.

Physical Requirements:
  • Extended periods of standing and moving throughout event spaces.
  • Ability to bend, lift, scoop, and carry food items and equipment.
  • Capacity to perform physical tasks, including lifting approximately 30 lbs.
