Senior Prosecutor

The District Attorney's Office is dedicated to ensuring justice for victims of crime while efficiently prosecuting individuals accused of felonies and misdemeanors within Lehigh County. This office collaborates closely with local law enforcement agencies to bolster investigations and enhance public safety initiatives. We aim to innovate and proactively address the evolving needs of the community and law enforcement personnel in fulfilling our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with law enforcement, victim support organizations, and various community stakeholders across the county.
• Work alongside local law enforcement in investigative processes and pre-arrest charging decisions.
• Authorize search warrants and criminal complaints.
• Represent the Commonwealth in preliminary hearings before Magisterial District Justices.
• Advocate for the Commonwealth in juvenile delinquency cases before Juvenile Court Hearing Officers and in the Court of Common Pleas.
• Oversee a caseload in the Court of Common Pleas from initial assignment through trial, sentencing, or final resolution, including all pretrial matters such as plea negotiations, hearings on pretrial issues, bail hearings, bench warrants, and miscellaneous petitions.
• Perform additional duties within the scope of the District Attorney's responsibilities, including handling Post-Conviction Relief Act petitions and Appeals.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law institution.
• Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle.
• Successful completion of a background check is required.
