JOB DESCRIPTION

Steel Building Specialists, Inc. is seeking a proficient Construction Financial Analyst to enhance their finance department. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the fiscal oversight of construction initiatives. A solid background in construction finance, budget management, and financial reporting within the construction sector is essential. The Construction Financial Analyst will be responsible for ensuring precise financial documentation, cost management, and adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate expenses related to construction projects.
  • Oversee project budgets, expenditures, and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with project leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including maintaining accuracy in Committed Costs and managing outstanding items.
  • Prepare and dispatch precise project invoices.
  • Ensure billing corresponds with project agreements and timelines.
  • Gather necessary supporting documentation.
  • Work with project leaders to address billing issues.
  • Manage the complete accounts payable process.
  • Reconcile accounts for vendors and subcontractors.
  • Generate financial statements related to construction activities.
  • Provide analysis on project financial outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and industry regulations.
  • Utilize advanced technical skills.
  • Establish and maintain workflows for the timely processing of payable invoices.
  • Assist in various ad hoc projects and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Support the preparation of Work In Progress (WIP) schedules for ongoing construction endeavors.

Qualifications:

  • Exemplary integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction finance or a related field.
  • Proficiency in construction financial software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to seek information and resolve challenges.
  • Comprehensive understanding of job-costing and financial accounts.
