Class Overview:

The primary function of this role is to engage in advanced technical work associated with data governance, evaluation, visualization, and report generation to enhance the operations and strategic decision-making of the Business Services division. The Business Intelligence Analyst position merges business acumen with data evaluation to provide thorough reporting and insights to business leaders and academic personnel managing revenue-generating sectors across educational and auxiliary domains.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Finance, or a related field with a focus on data analysis. A Master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Power BI or similar data visualization tools. Familiarity with Banner and experience in higher education is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee data repositories.
  • Conduct analysis of both quantitative and qualitative datasets.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal departments and external entities.
  • Prepare and evaluate reports as required.
  • Assist college departments and personnel as needed.
Additional duties may be assigned beyond the core responsibilities.

Position Specific Responsibilities:
  • Collect data pertinent to business services and collaborate with IT Services and the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation to generate regular and tailored analytics reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
  • Analyze financial data related to business unit sales and expenditures, as well as trends in enrollment, demographics, and purchasing behaviors in the context of higher education.
  • Investigate student and campus behaviors and propose operational improvements to senior management.
  • Engage with partners and stakeholders to facilitate data requests.
  • Deliver reports and analyses by integrating data from various college systems to uncover trends and derive critical insights.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned beyond the essential job duties.
