As an IT Support Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and sustain the IT infrastructure at our site, ensuring seamless operation, security, and scalability, along with managing our database systems. This role encompasses a variety of tasks related to IT support and server maintenance. You will collaborate closely with a team of engineers to ensure their IT requirements are fulfilled and that database systems are properly maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver on-site IT assistance at designated locations.
- Manage the administration of workstations, servers (both Windows and Linux), software, licensing, and backup and recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with team members to recommend and assist in the procurement of computer hardware and software.
- Work with the team to troubleshoot vendor software issues.
- Coordinate with corporate IT to oversee local network management (wired and wireless), including physical network infrastructure.
- Provide technical support for Linux-based systems, servers, and infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software issues to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency.
- Implement and uphold network security protocols to safeguard against unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights in line with company policies and procedures.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference and training purposes.
- Perform system administration tasks for MES and ERP database systems and servers, including updates, backups, recovery, user maintenance, and security management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in configuring and managing Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware ESX or Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Experience with shell and batch file scripting.
- Understanding of Domain Controller, RAID, Network File Systems, and Backup software.
