Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled Court Service Center Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Court Services and Law Libraries Department, you will provide accurate legal information and court assistance to self-represented litigants and other members of the public, ensuring better access to the Massachusetts justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily operations of a Court Service Center, including greeting and triaging visitors, answering and directing phone calls, and ensuring access for limited English proficient litigants.
  • Provide legal and procedural information to self-represented litigants, explaining court processes, rules, and documents.
  • Assist in creating self-help resources for court users and ensure that all Court Service Center materials are updated regularly.
  • Participate in regular meetings with court officials and staff to improve coordination and effectiveness.
  • Enter data daily, ensure statistical information is accurate, and assist in preparing statistical reports.
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or its equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of Trial Court experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual skills and Court Service Center experience are preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge and familiarity with court procedures, documents, and terminology.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with Judges, court officials, attorneys, court employees, and the general public.
