Estimated Salary: $35,000 - $50,000 per year

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for daily cleaning of patient rooms multiple times throughout the day to improve patient experience and perception. Key tasks include:

  • Maintaining all patient, office, and ancillary areas of the hospital in a clean and sanitary condition.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting all precaution rooms in accordance with infection control policies/procedures.
  • Picking up trash in assigned areas and placing it in central locations for bulk pick-up.
  • Stripping and refinishing floors, shampooing carpets and upholstery, washing walls and windows, and transporting furniture and equipment as assigned.
  • Assisting in snow removal emergencies as needed.
  • Answering Environmental Services pages in a timely manner.
  • Attending regularly scheduled Inservice training programs given by the department.
  • Reporting any maintenance problems or damages to the Supervisor.
  • Ensuring a helpful and productive attitude throughout the workday.
  • Picking up trash and soiled linen in assigned areas.
  • Removing needle/glove boxes, chemo buckets, and soiled equipment from patient rooms and taking them to the soiled utility room.
  • Performing assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
  • Reporting any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations to the Supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Daily contact with Hospital employees, patients, and visitors.
  • Knowledge of hospital/departmental policies and procedures.
  • The ability to read and write at a high school level.
  • The ability to lift and walk with a weight of up to 40 pounds.
  • The ability to maintain a high degree of personal hygiene.
  • A courteous, service-oriented, and helpful attitude throughout the workday.
  • The ability to work in a standing position and carry out normally assigned duties for the entire shift.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality, especially regarding patients.

Education and Certifications

A High School diploma or GED is required. Additional certifications may be beneficial but are not essential.

Additional Requirements

We expect our candidates to adhere to company guidelines regarding COVID-19 compliance and wear scrubs as part of the dress code. Schedule notes include working from 7am to 3:30pm.
