Job Summary:


Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Dental Assistant II for the Department of Orthodontics at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists orthodontic faculty and students with various tasks, including seating patients, adjusting chairs, and draping patients with protective covers.
  • Ensures the department's daily operations run smoothly by setting up and stocking units, and maintaining dental supply inventory.
  • Provides instrumentation and materials as requested by providers, including preparing instruments for sterilization and exposing and developing radiographs.
  • Supports the delivery of information to patients, including patient treatment contracts, and maintains confidentiality.


Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program.
  • Previous experience in a dental office.
  • Valid Radiological Technology License issued by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
  • CPR Certification.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/Portuguese) is preferred but not necessary.
