Fleet maintenance for our Department of Defense clientele encompasses a range of activities including repair, fabrication, manufacturing, assembly, modification, refurbishment, testing, and analysis of parts, as well as the design of repair processes and in-service engineering.


The Technical Operations Specialist II will deliver technical support engineering through a series of interconnected tasks, such as maintenance, logistical support, inventory management, and testing operations.


Key Responsibilities:
Engage in high-stakes work for the Department of Defense.


Deliver technical support engineering by adhering to specific guidelines, assembling or constructing standard equipment or components, and servicing or repairing basic instruments or devices.


Conduct a variety of tests utilizing established protocols for preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, documenting test results, and identifying discrepancies due to equipment failures or observational inaccuracies.


Extract engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, process the information using well-defined methods, including basic algebra and geometry, and present the findings in the required format.

Work autonomously to troubleshoot issues.

Guide team members to achieve set objectives.

Execute maintenance and logistical tasks on deployed systems.

Manage inventory, determine order quantities, and oversee resupply operations.

Conduct fleet planning, operations, and maintenance.

Prepare shipping documentation.

Carry out maintenance tasks.

Utilize testing and diagnostic equipment.

Operate handling machinery.

Drive various vehicles.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Essential:
High school diploma or GED equivalent

5+ years of relevant experience

A valid driver's license is mandatory

Interim Secret clearance is required from day one, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance throughout the contract duration

Candidate must be proficient in computer operations (including automated web-based data systems) and skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Mail)

Candidate must be physically capable of lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds using appropriate equipment and techniques

Personnel may be required to perform physically demanding tasks and may need to stand for extended periods

Personnel are expected to demonstrate meticulous documentation skills

Preferred Skills:
Experience in heavy equipment operation, general material handling, and warehousing, particularly with hazardous materials and leading technical teams

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Strong background in the following areas is preferred: Welding (MIG, TIG, and ARC certifications are advantageous)

Fabrication

Hydraulic system repair, including cylinder assessment and rebuilding

Electrical system repair (A/C up to 480V 3-phase and D/C up to 48V)

HVAC certifications (EPA608 Universal with 410A and EPA609 are beneficial)

Painting/respirator qualifications (beneficial)

General mechanical repairs

Experience with commercial and military Material Handling Equipment is desired.


Ability to demonstrate maturity and technical proficiency in the relevant area of expertise and adapt swiftly to a complex and evolving work scope.

Mechanical aptitude and the ability to diligently follow written and verbal instructions.

Proficient use of standard hand tools and material handling equipment.

Operation of heavy machinery, including trucks and forklifts for general material handling.

Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.

Ability to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds using proper techniques.

Physically fit with full mobility of arms, legs, and back.

Ability to maintain necessary training and certifications.

Ability to utilize computers for information retrieval and generation using Microsoft applications.

Willingness to travel 20-30% to domestic and international locations.

Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
