Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled OSP Resident Engineer to join our team at CHR Solutions. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for inspecting fiber optic cable placement, fiber drop installations, and associated construction activities for assigned OSP projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect workmanship of contractor construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Interpret contract documents for contractors to assist with compliance with construction contract terms
  • Coordinate and document communications with contractors and clients regarding contract changes
  • Maintain construction drawings and record 'as-built' inventory units and routing
  • Observe and record materials, equipment, and workmanship by contractors
  • Provide project inspection results to OSP or Project Manager
  • Participate in acceptance testing as needed
  • Manage and assist in training OSP Technicians and Inspectors on assigned projects
  • Maintain compliance with current state and federal safety guidelines
Requirements
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel 100% with reliable personal vehicle
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and walk several miles per day
  • Minimum 5 years related work experience with OSP Construction
  • Strong understanding of OSP fiber optic aerial and buried construction
  • Ability to follow company procedures and guidelines
  • Proficiency working with a tablet and computer
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory or managerial experience with small to mid-sized teams
  • Strong understanding of OSP Fiber Design
  • Proficiency understanding right-of-way permitting guidelines
