What YOU will do

Develop flight display systems used on platforms such as the 747 Jumbo-Jet, 737 MAX and 787 Dreamliner, among others. 

Responsible for software lifecycle (requirements, design, develop, verify/test, release). 

Design, code, integrate, regression test, verify and document software in areas such as software problem reports, change requests, software components and software test scripts. 

Incorporate the appropriate processes and tools into product development, resulting in increased product quality and improved customer satisfaction. 

Perform software debugging using appropriate techniques and tools. 

Contribute to cross-functional team efforts in integration, verification and validation for products and sub-systems. 

Provide engineering estimates for work on upcoming tasks. 

Contribute to software engineering requirements capture, analysis and creation for well-defined software designs.

Qualifications You Must Have

Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and five years of progressive experience in a Software Engineering role in the avionics industry. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and three years of experience in a Software Engineering role in the avionics industry would be acceptable.

Must possess at least 3 years of experience in ARP-4754, DO-178 B/C, DO-160 and/or DO-254 compliance.

Must possess at least 3 years of experience with Software design, requirement, development & test procedure in C++, Python, and Java languages.

Must possess at least 3 years of experience in System testing, Hardware-Software Integration Testing, Requirement Based Testing and Unit testing.

Must possess at least 3 years of experience in working with real-time operating systems (VxWorks or LinxOS).

Must possess at least 2 years of experience in meeting avionics standards such as ARINC-615A (data load), ARINC-653 (application interface), ARINC-661 (display interface), IEEE 803.2 (ethernet), and ARINC-664 (AFDX).

Must possess at least 2 years of experience in Configuration management & Requirements management using SVN, Jama and DOORS.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work onsite. This

includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range is $ 116,734.00 to $ 163,000.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
